Home Test Kits for Members in Alaska and Washington

    Premera will work with Home Access Health (Home Access) to send preventive and disease monitoring screenings to members who are due for either of two tests. Home Access will order and send fecal immunochemical test (FIT) kits to members with colorectal cancer screening gaps and will order and send hemoglobin HbA1c (HbA1c) test kits to members with diabetic HbA1c testing gaps. Test kits were sent on September 14th, 2020.

    Members participating in these programs will receive their results within two weeks of the lab’s receipt of the member’s sample(s).

    Hemoglobin HbA1c Testing for Members with Diabetes

    Individuals aged 18-75 with a diagnosis of diabetes, should receive a hemoglobin A1C test once every 12 months.

    FIT for Colorectal Cancer Screening

    Individuals aged 50-75 years of age should be screened for colorectal cancer at regular intervals for detection of abnormalities.
