Insulin Cost-Sharing Cap Mandate

  • December 3, 2020

Starting January 1, 2021, Washington state law (House Bill 2662 and SB 6087) will require health plans to provide coverage for covered prescription insulin drugs for the treatment of diabetes. The total amount that a member is required to pay is not to exceed $100 per 30-day supply of insulin.

The goal of HB 2662 is to ensure all patients have access to insulin at an affordable price.

Be sure use the eligibility and benefits tool to verify your patient’s coverage.
