Collectively, Alaskans rank among the top three states for their feelings of financial security, community pride, and good health.(1) This news comes from the latest Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, which also placed us in the top spot for happiness.(2)
The index uses a holistic definition of well-being, and in previous reports, stated that high well-being closely relates to key health outcomes. These include lower rates of healthcare use and workplace absenteeism, and higher workplace performance.(3)
Alaskans also share the strongest sense of purpose in the nation. Premera’s sense of purpose is deeply connected to Alaska’s good health. Our unparalleled Wellness Program, for example, is a good example of this. Read the testimonial inside to find out how it’s changing the lives of members in one Premera group.
We are delighted to share this news, and to be your partner in creating Alaska’s good health.
