DataWise: Premera’s Interoperability Program

  • August 4, 2022

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) federal mandates require health plans to provide electronic access to clinical records for members in individual market programs. Premera has further committed to providing electronic access to clinical records for all our members by the end of 2022.

What does this mean for providers?

Strategic provider partners can work with Premera leverage interoperability capabilities to achieve gains from administrative efficiencies, reduction in cost of care, and to closure of healthcare gaps.

Our DataWise program enables electronic data sharing allowing member history to become more portable to provide a complete picture of the member’s healthcare experience, meaning more effective care and fewer gaps. We’ve been testing DataWise through partnerships with MultiCare and Providence and are looking for additional partners. If you’re interested in partnering with us, or in learning more about our DataWise interoperability program, contact your Premera/LifeWise provider network executive.
