Well-Baby Checkups: Parent/Guardian Education

  • October 1, 2020

Well-child visits are crucial to children receiving timely care and vaccines. Parents aren’t always aware of the need for a well-child visit, or what should be covered at each visit.

To help parents and guardians better understand the need for well-child visits, Premera will send:

    1. A growth chart to the parents or guardians of babies between 1-3 months old. Parents can hang the colorful growth chart and use it to mark baby’s growth. It includes the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) well-visit and vaccine schedules, key topics for each visit, and some of baby’s developmental milestones.
    2. A brochure to the parents or guardians of babies between 4-15 months old. The brochure includes AAP’s well-visit schedule, key topics for each visit, and the CDC’s recommended vaccine schedule.

We encourage you to reach out to your patients who may need a well-child visit to schedule an appointment.
