    Premera’s member engagement team will send informational mailings to frequent emergency room (ER) users to ensure they’re informed of non-emergency care options available to them at short notice.

    Topics covered in the mailer include:

    • Alternatives to ER visits for non-emergency services like 24-hour nurse line, telehealth services, and urgent care facilities
    • Cost of these alternatives per the member’s specific plan
    • Reminders of what is considered a life threating emergency
