If you're a newly contracted provider or training new employees about Premera or insurance in general, Premera's web-based provider orientation is a helpful resource. The training is located in the new Learning Center section of Premera's non-secure provider web pages.
The training helps new staff build knowledge about Premera and our online tools and includes information specific to Alaska providers and customers.
This learning experience is also useful for solo practitioners with practice management responsibilities.
The training is a series of short modules, averaging 5 minutes each. Viewers can watch the sessions individually or all at once. The total time for all 6 modules is about 30 minutes. Topics include:
- Premera basics
- Contracting and credentialing
- ID cards and eligibility
- Policies and prior authorization
- Medical coding and claims
- Getting answers
