Earlier this year, Premera began funding up to $100 million in advance payments for eligible providers in Washington and Alaska. We wanted our community to be healthy. And to be healthy, we needed to have a strong provider network. To date, we’ve funded upwards of $18 million to more than 100 contracted providers.
We’ll begin recoupment on January 1, 2021 over a 9-month period. There’s no interest charged for this advance. Our repayment options are flexible and will include single lump sum payments, quarterly payments, and invoicing. Providers and clinics that received payment from the Advance Payment Program will soon receive an email noting your options for repaying the Advance Payment. Be sure to respond as soon as possible indicating your preferred option.
