HEDIS Quality Measure: Musculoskeletal Conditions

  • July 18, 2019

According to the World Health Organization, musculoskeletal conditions are the second largest contributor to disability. Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) measures support appropriate management of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis, which can help reduce the risk of debilitating complications.

Learn more about what’s included in these measures, new exclusions including advanced illness and frailty of the patient, and ways you can close gaps in care for patients with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis:

    • ART tip sheet for disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug therapy for adults with rheumatoid arthritis
    • OMW tip sheet for osteoporosis management in women 65 and older who had a fracture

These tip sheets also cover required medical record documentation and claim coding to reduce the need for medical record reviews.
