December 7, 2017
There are changes to our 2018 Medicare Advantage Pharmacy network that we need to tell you about:
- Specialty (limited access medications): Credena Specialty Pharmacy is no longer in our 2018 pharmacy network. Customers will be sent a notice of this change in late November. For Medicare Advantage plans, our new preferred pharmacy for specialty medication is CVS/Caremark. We encourage you to help your patients transition to CVS/Caremark for specialty medication fills because they'll generally pay less than previously.
- Home infusion network: There aren't many changes to this network, but there are some. It's important to check our 2018 Find a Pharmacy tool to make sure your patient is receiving home-infusion services from an in-network provider.
- Mail order pharmacy: CVS/Caremark is now the only in-network option for ordering prescriptions by mail. We'll no longer offer Wellpartner, Postal Prescription Services, or Walgreens mail services. We're notifying customers about this, but we appreciate your help to remind your patients of this change.
- We have new 2018 ID cards. All customers customer will receive a new ID card that will include information on which pharmacies are available to fill 2018 prescriptions. Remind patients to bring their new ID card to the pharmacy the first time they fill their 2018 prescriptions.
How are we helping customers with this change?
- We're contacting all current Medicare Advantage customers who are using an out-of-network mail order or specialty pharmacy, and we're helping them transfer their prescriptions to CVS/Caremark.
- We have a new 2018 Find a Pharmacy online tool to help customers locate pharmacies near them. They can also call customer service at 888-850-8526 to ask for a printed copy of the provider and pharmacy directory or for help finding a pharmacy in their area.
How can providers help customers with this change?
Before you issue new prescriptions for 2018 plan customers, check our 2018 Find a Pharmacy tool to make sure your patient is receiving pharmacy services from in-network pharmacies.
