Medicare Enrollment Validation

  • May 4, 2017

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requires all providers enrolled in Medicare to revalidate their application with CMS every three years. You'll receive a notice from CMS when you're due to revalidate.

It's important that you don't ignore this request and revalidate your application right away. Failure to do so can result in the following:

    • Medicare can deactivate your enrollment.
    • You'll need to reapply again if you want to continue to care for Medicare patients.
    • You'll receive no payment for services for your Medicare patients, including Premera's Medicare Advantage members, if your enrollment lapses and you provide care for a Medicare patient.
