Quartet Links Physical and Mental Health

  • September 7, 2017

Today, nearly half of the U.S. population suffers from at least one chronic health condition and nearly two thirds also suffer from an accompanying behavioral health condition. At Premera, we know that the mind and body are inextricably linked and both must be addressed to improve patients' total health.

To improve care accessibility and experience for our members, Premera has partnered with Quartet, a pioneering technology company. Quartet's web-based tool helps physicians and staff connect their patients to behavioral health providers and resources.

“Prior to Quartet, we frequently wouldn't even know if and where a patient was getting (behavioral health) care. Now with Quartet, we know who the provider is, and we have a mechanism for communicating directly with that person,” said Premera network physician Dr. Rachel Beda of Wise Patient Internal Medicine, PLLC, in Seattle.

Quartet has grown an expansive network of behavioral health providers in the Seattle area. Teri Cherberg, Clinic Manager and Marketing Director of Emmaus Counseling Center, finds the platform and its primary care physician users very responsive and exceptionally detailed regarding patient care.

“Quartet and Premera have an invaluable partnership that bridges the gap between primary care and mental healthcare,” said Teri, one of the platform's earliest adopters in the area. “The platform has helped us build our network, and we believe it enables the most effective care for our clients.”
