For groups that offer dual specialty pharmacy services
In January, Walgreens announced its plan to purchase Prime Therapeutics' interest in Alliance Rx Walgreens Prime, making them the sole owner of the company. As part of the agreement, effective June 2022, the company will be known as AllianceRx Walgreens Pharmacy.
For groups that offer dual specialty pharmacy services as a part of your Premera plan and use Walgreens for your specialty pharmacy needs, members will be notified of the name change via a medication box insert between the months of April and June. Disruption to members is not expected as they will continue to fill their prescriptions as usual throughout the transition, and the website and phone numbers will remain the same.
