The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline was launched in 2022 to provide people with immediate crisis intervention and support. In addition to the 988 crisis line, Washington state legislators enhanced a new ruling requiring health plans to make next-day appointments available to members experiencing urgent behavioral health issues starting January 1, 2023.
Premera is prepared to coordinate with providers to secure next-day appointments for members who call with an urgent behavioral health need. Premera case management ranges from coordinating care for members with complex medical conditions to assistance with hospital discharge planning.
