Members Can Request Health Plans Share Health Data

  • This only applies to Alaska Individual Members

Premera members can now request their health data be sent from a prior plan to Premera.

This Payer to Payer Data Exchange allows members to have their clinical records follow them from health plan to health plan, creating a more consistent patient record experience between health plans. This data may also help with quality and care management programs in the future.

Members who have a secure web account at Premera make the request online at Premera.com, click My Health Data and choose Payer to Payer Data Exchange. They also can request data be sent from a prior health plan. Former members may contact their new health plan to request the data exchange from Premera.

This Data Exchange is based on federal interoperability guidelines from Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

For more information about interoperability guidelines, visit the My Health Data FAQ or the CMS website.
