Over the following year, existing small groups will be onboarding to our enrollment center. The enrollment center makes it easy for you to manage eligibility changes and plan elections for members.

    What you need to know
    • The enrollment center requires a Social Security Number (SSN) for each member. This helps with enrollment as well as 1095-B reporting.
    • Members who do not have an SSN listed in the system won’t have their information uploaded to the enrollment center during their group’s onboarding process.
    • Not submitting SSNs for group members could cause a delay in the group’s onboarding or affect the member’s benefits until we can obtain their SSN.
    • Premera will reach out to groups with members who do not have an SSN listed in the system.
    Next steps
    • Encourage your groups to submit the requested SSNs promptly when/if they receive a request to do so.
    • If your group does not receive a request from Premera to submit SSNs, there is nothing more the group needs to do.

    How are we notifying employers?

Employers will receive notification about the SSN requirement and requests in their next edition of the Employer News e-newsletter going out on December 15, 2020.

If a group has members without an SSN listed in the system, Premera will reach out to the group to request these important details.
