    What’s changing in May?

Starting May 1, you'll have a new system to pay your monthly premium.

With everything going on right now, hearing about a new payment system probably isn’t your top priority. But since this change will require you to act soon, we want you know what you can expect starting May 1. We’re here to help make this transition as easy as possible.

    Key things to know

You don’t need to do anything differently right now.

If you make a payment during the month of April, you don’t need to do anything differently.

    • Use any of the payment options listed on the invoice you receive this month.
    • If you’re currently set up on autopay, your payment will draft in April as normal.

If you make a payment on May 1 or after, some things will look and work a little differently.

Use the chart below to find out what’s changing, and what action you’ll need to take.

How to make a payment starting May 1

Online account at premera.com Starting May 1, you’ll have two new payment buttons in your online account: Pay Premium Payment, and Manage Recurring Payments. Use these buttons to make a one-time payment or to set up automatic recurring payments.
Automatic recurring payments (autopay) To set up automatic payments, sign in to your account starting May 1 and click the Manage Recurring Payments button.

If you currently pay with automatic payments, you will need to create these payments again in the new system on May 1 or after. Your current autopay information will not transfer over to the new system.
Automated phone system Continue to call 800-809-9361. Customer service cannot take payment over the phone, so please follow the automated phone prompts to make a payment
Mailed check Starting May 1, we will have a new address for mailing checks. This address will be included on your monthly invoice. Be sure to detach that portion of the invoice and include it with your check.
Bank bill pay Set up new bill pay through your bank using our updated payment address and a payment date of May 1 or after. Your current bank bill pay will not transfer over to the new system.
One-time payment link If you currently pay using a payment link that requires a Payment ID, this option will no longer be available starting May 1. You can pay using any of the options listed above.

Why is Premera making this change?

We currently have members on different payment systems. We're moving to one system, which will help us provide better consistency and service to you.

You’ll also get features you've asked for, such as a payment confirmation screen and an emailed payment receipt.

Should I continue to pay my monthly premium as usual through April 30?

Yes! Continue to pay your monthly bill as you normally do through April 30. You don’t need to do anything differently until May 1.

Over the next month, we’ll provide more detailed information about how to pay in May, so you’re informed every step of the way.
