No Surprises Act - Update on Air Ambulance Data Collection (AADC)

  • March 9, 2023

In late February, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) released a new webpage to house information on Air Ambulance Data Collection (AADC). Section 106 of the No Surprises Act requires air ambulance providers, insurance companies, and employer-based health plans to submit to federal regulators information about air ambulance services provided to consumers. This webpage will provide a place for resources related to this data collection effort.

Per the site, upcoming final rules will specify the final reporting requirements, including the data elements and the deadlines for the data collection, and the webpage will be updated with the relevant resources. The data collection, including the reporting originally due by March 31, 2023, will not begin until after the final rules are published.

We will provide additional information on this effort as it becomes available.
