With the unprecedented nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska has remained committed to making sure your clients continue to have greater access to care. Through the expansion of our telehealth network, Premera helped reduce wait times for employees to receive care from home at no additional cost.

To ensure your clients are continuing to receive greater access to care, Premera will be extending the cost share waiver for all in-network telehealth services along with the expanded telehealth network until December 31, 2020 to all fully insured, OptiFlex, individual, and Self-funded group clients.

    Self-funded Clients:

Your self-funded clients can choose to allow your cost share waivers to continue through December 31 or choose an alternate end date of June 30 or September 30. If they choose to end their cost share waivers prior to December 31, 98point6 will be removed from the expanded network.

The deadline for your clients to respond wishing to end their telehealth cost share waivers was June 18th. If we did not hear from a group, they were defaulted to the standard cost share waiver end date of December 31st. If you have any questions, please contact your Premera representative.

The expanded telehealth network for all eligible clients includes:

98point6* Text-based care from a doctor, 24/7 (this is included for fully insured, OptiFlex, and self-funded groups who extend cost share waivers through December 31 only)
Doctor On Demand* Video-based care from a doctor, 24/7
    Video-based mental health therapy, 24/7
Boulder Care* Treatment for opioid use disorder

These new providers join our existing telehealth options which include:
