Updates to our preventive care benefits began July 1, 2023, or as groups renew, for all members with non-grandfathered health plans. These changes are in response to new federal recommendations from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF).
The following is a summary of additional benefits that are now covered for Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska health plan members by category.
- Screening for syphilis infection in non-pregnant adolescents
- Screening for depression and suicide risk in children and adolescents aged 12 years or older
- Screening for anxiety in children and adolescents aged 8 to 18 years
