Behavioral Health Navigator changing in 2023

  • October 20, 2022

Currently, the Behavioral Health Navigator program offered by Premera includes self-referral tools through Quartet, a vendor, for members to find a provider. We are ending our relationship with Quartet effective December 31, 2022. We found that the offerings for members were limited and access to providers wasn’t consistent.

Beginning January 1, 2023, all fully insured groups in Washington, including our OptiFlex groups, will continue to have access to the Behavioral Health Navigator program. This program will be supported by a dedicated internal Premera team.

Behavioral Health Navigator will offer members a curated list of providers that meet their specific needs. Unlike Quartet, the internal team at Premera will be able to support nationwide navigation services including those for child and adolescent members.

When ready, updated member communications and resources will be available in B’link.

Premera understands the importance of providing access to high-quality care for our members. With the need for behavioral health care reaching crisis levels, it can be difficult for people to find a provider with availability that matches their specific needs. Our members will continue to receive support finding behavioral health providers that match their needs.

As part of our mission to make healthcare work better, our job is to ensure our members have access to affordable, quality healthcare. This means we must continually evaluate the services we provide and adjust accordingly if they do not live up to our high standards and mission.
