This year, more Premera members are using virtual care options, also called telehealth, than ever before. And they’re discovering how great it can be—no waiting rooms, no commutes, and no need to change out of those quarantine sweats.

Here’s what you need to know to help educate your clients on this important benefit:

    Options

In response to COVID-19, we’ve added new virtual care services to the Premera network. Our options include video, phone, and text-based apps for medical and mental health programs.

In-network options for medical services include:

    • Your own in-network doctor – Contact your doctor to see if they offer telehealth services
    • 24-Hour NurseLine – Call the number on the back of your ID card
    • 98point6 – Text-based care from a doctor, 24/7
    • Doctor On Demand – Phone or video-based care from a doctor, 24/7
    • Teladoc® – Phone or video-based care from a doctor, 24/7

In-network providers for mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders include:

    • Doctor On Demand – Video-based mental health therapy
    • Boulder Care – Video-based treatment for opioid use disorder
    • WorkIt Health – Video-based treatment for alcohol use disorder

    Using virtual care

Your clients do not need a referral to start treatment with a virtual care provider. Additionally, to help our customers with the impacts of COVID-19, Premera will be waiving cost sharing for all in-network virtual care services through December 31, 2020.
