As part of President Biden’s National COVID-19 Preparedness Plan, a Test to Treat initiative was launched on March 7, 2022. This program allows people who test positive for COVID-19 to visit designated pharmacies and federally qualified community health centers (FHQCs) to assess and prescribe antiviral pills on the spot. This includes the antiviral medications molnupiravir from Merck and Paxlovid from Pfizer. Oral antivirals may only be provided when prescribed by a qualified healthcare provider after a positive COVID-19 test. Your regular provider can prescribe, as well as designated pharmacies with in-store clinics and FQHCs. For more information, and to find a location providing oral antiviral medications, visit the Test to Treat website.
