Questions and answers about your plan

Most members receive their cards in the mail about two weeks after open enrollment ends.

Your plan start date is listed in your open enrollment information. You can use your member ID information before your plan starts to make provider appointments after your start date.

You can cover children to the age of 26, whether or not they live with you.

Check with your benefits administrator; with some employers or plans, 26-year-old children may stay on the plan through the end of the plan year.

See Personal Funding Accounts to learn about the differences and how you can use the account.

Yes, you can pay for prescriptions as well as any other IRS-approved medical expenses  (PDF document). Learn more about HSAs and how they work on the Health Savings Accounts page.

Check with your HSA bank or the IRS to verify the limit, because it often changes year to year. Note that members 55 and older can add a catch-up amount.

A copay is an amount you pay when visiting a provider. You can see that amount, for medical care or pharmacy, on your card. If you have an HSA plan, you do not have copays.

The deductible is the set amount you pay toward your plan before we start contributing to your care. After your deductible is met, you’ll pay a percentage toward your care and we will pay the rest.

This is the amount you pay, after deductible, until we pay 100% of your medical costs. If your deductible is $1,500, your coinsurance 20%, and your out-of-pocket max $3,000, for example, after you meet your deductible, you will pay 20% of your care, but when you reach $3,000, you will pay 0%.
