UMP Centers of Excellence Program

  • COVID-19 Update: Premera is accepting intakes for new patients for the UMP Centers of Excellence (COE) Program. The COEs, Virginia Mason (Seattle) and MultiCare Capital Medical Center (Olympia), are scheduling elective surgeries. Both facilities are following strict protocols to ensure patient and staff safety. Virtual visits may also be an option for some COE appointments. Give us a call if you’re interested in UMP’s COE Program at 855-784-4563 (TRS: 711).
  • Weighing treatment options for severe, chronic joint or low back pain? The Uniform Medical Plan’s (UMP) Centers of Excellence (COE) Program may be right for you if:

    • You’re a member of one of these plans: UMP Classic, UMP Select, UMP Consumer-Directed Health Plan (CDHP), UMP Achieve 1, UMP Achieve 2, UMP High Deductible
    • You’re thinking about knee or hip replacement or spine surgery
    • You do not have Medicare as primary coverage

The COE Program contracts with providers who have proven their ability to provide exceptional service and the best outcomes for patients with certain medical conditions. Eligible members who meet medical and other criteria can receive their treatment at low to no cost. If you qualify, the COE Program will also assist with travel and lodging expenses, up to IRS guidelines, for you and a care companion*.

The COE Program is administered by Premera Blue Cross.
