May is Mental Health Awareness Month

  • May 11, 2023

Use May Mental Health Awareness Month as an opportunity to reach out to your clients and remind them that their health plan includes mental health resources.

    Mental health services

If you notice that some of your clients are struggling, encourage them to use their Premera Medicare Advantage behavioral health benefit. Their plan covers visits with mental health and substance abuse professionals at the cost of a specialist copay. All they need to do is call the number on the back of their ID card to get the help they need.

    Physical Activity

A mental health professional may recommend adding an exercise program to help lift their mood. If they’re not using their Silver&Fit program, encourage them to try it. The National Institute on Aging, recommends physical activity to reduce feelings of depression and stress, improve sleep, and increase energy levels. All Premera Medicare Advantage plans include the Silver&Fit exercise program. Premera Medicare Supplement individual plans A, C, F, F High Deductible, G, G High Deductible and N also include Silver&Fit. The program has something for everyone such as:

    • On-demand workout videos available at www.silverandfit.com or they can download the ASHConnect™ mobile app to find workout videos
    • Workout plans to help start an exercise routine
    • Healthy aging coaching to help meet fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle goals
    • Well-Being Club to connect with others and enjoy live-streaming classes and events
    • Access to a network of fitness centers
    • Home fitness kits

Advise your clients to go to www.SilverandFit.com to get started. Or call 877-427-4788 (TTY/TDD: 711), Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. if they have questions.
