We recently learned that some of our Medicare Advantage (MA) members are getting turned away from Kroger pharmacies for their prescription fills. This includes Fred Meyer and QFC pharmacies. Please tell your clients that Kroger pharmacies are in-network for our MA plans.
Kroger recently ended their contract with Express Scripts, Inc., which is the pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) for many Premera plans. Premera MA plans use CVS pharmacy as the PBM, and Kroger is in-network for MA.
Our MA pharmacy team is currently calling Kroger managers to clear up the confusion. We’re confident this issue will be resolved soon.
Please contact your territory manager if your clients are continuing to encounter this problem. It would be helpful if you could ask your client which Kroger pharmacy is turning them away so we can contact them directly.
