If you prescribe drugs, you do need to have an enrollment application on file with CMS. New CMS regulations require ALL prescribers (including dental providers) of Part D drugs to have an enrollment application on file. If you don't enroll, your prescriptions at the pharmacy will be denied and your patient will be responsible for the full cost. It's important for you to ensure you’re enrolled with Medicare before prescribing Part D drugs to Premera Medicare Advantage members.
CMS recently posted a new video to take you through the enrollment process and how to use the Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System (PECOS). To enroll or learn more, visit the CMS website.
