For groups with fully insured plans
As small groups renew in
2022, certain mental health drugs, osteoporosis therapy, asthma inhalers, and
insulin products will be covered under the PV Core drug list replacing PV1. This will be the standard
option for fully insured group plans. In addition to the minimum required
preventive drugs, this list also covers certain blood thinning agents as well
as certain cholesterol lowering agents. Premera has made this change to better
align with IRS guidelines outlined in the IRS
2019-45 notice.
Letters will be sent to impacted members on December 1, 2021.
