Great news! If you offer a Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska dental plan for your employees, they will have access to more in-network dentists starting January 1, 2020.
For the second year in a row, we’re expanding our dental network by adding 38 providers and 67 access points* in the state. This 11% increase in network size makes the Premera Choice dental network the largest in Alaska with a total of 369 providers.**
To help your employees plan dental appointments, all new dental providers are listed in the Find a Doctor tool on premera.com. The listing includes a note indicating the provider will join the network on January 1, 2020.
Take action today
- Tell your employees that the size of the Premera dental network has increased for the second year in a row.
- Encourage your employees to use their dental benefits. We have ready-to-share resources in an online library where you will find flyers, emails, and copy-and-paste content. Log in to the secure employer website and click the link for the Employee Communications Center. Look in the left-hand column under Mange your health and select Dental health.
*What’s the difference between the number of providers and the number of access points? Many dentists have multiple locations. This results in additional access points for members.
