The Everett Clinic, Group Health Cooperative, Providence Regional Medical Center and Premera Blue Cross highlighted

EVERETT, WA - (Feb. 21, 2012) - "U.S. Health Care: The Good News," a one-hour documentary about communities able to provide high quality healthcare at costs far below the national average, will feature several organizations from the Puget Sound region.

The film will premiere on PBS stations across the country this month and air locally on PBS affiliate, KCTS Channel 9, at two times:

    • Friday, February 24, 2012 at Noon
    • Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 3:00pm

In the documentary, journalist T.R. Reid travels the United States to report on communities that serve as an example for reducing healthcare costs while placing renewed emphasis on patient care. Of the four geographic areas chosen for the film, two are in the Puget Sound Region: Seattle and Everett.

The film highlights the simple and seemingly intuitive principles that some local organizations have adopted to make major impacts. The documentary cites these organizations as the “how-to” model for other American communities looking to make similar changes. See a two minute preview of the documentary: Preview
