Explanation of Payment (EOP) Changes and Updates

    In a continuing effort to improve, Premera moved to a new system to provide Explanation of Payment (EOP). During the upgrade, the printed and mailed EOPs dated February 16 through March 16 were missing the patient liability codes to help identifying why the patient had liability. For example, the indicator for amounts applied to the deductible on the claim was missing the ‘D’ in the patient liability column.

    This has been corrected and the updates will show for EOPs generated after March 16. The electronic EOPs were not affected by this change and can be accessed on the provider website. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Provider Customer Service at 800-722-1471.
