Premera is inviting providers to participate in our Total Joint Replacement Request for Proposal (RFP). We are seeking to award multiple bundle contracts for total hip and knee replacement in the state of Washington.
Premera wants to recognize facilities for higher efficiency and better patient outcomes in the delivery of total joint replacements. Based on these goals and engagement with employers to provide benefit design options, Premera is issuing this RFP to identify total joint replacement specialists who can partner with us and establish predictable quality standards and costs.
This process is based on interest from employer customers to engage in alternative payment models as part of an integrated purchasing strategy across all lines of business. This strategy will include new products, centers of excellence, and benefit design.
Completed RFPs are due to Premera by November 12, 2019. Information about the process and criteria is available. Final selection and notification of award will be made in January 2019 and expect to implement these bundles in 2020.
