End-of-Year Message

    We want to take a moment to thank all of our provider partners for their ongoing partnership this past year. As we look back at 2017, it's been a year of upheaval in healthcare, with many challenges in finding ways to meet the needs of our customers, your patients.

    We've added new value-based programs that mesh with your commitment to high-quality, cost-effective care. We've also enhanced our web tools, making it easier for you to get information quickly, and updated our website with more frequent, easier-to-read communications.

    For 2018, Premera remains focused on making healthcare work better for our customers. This includes moving ahead with more value-based programs, where providers are paid based on quality patient outcomes, coordinated care, and appropriate costs. We'll look at variation in cost of services, and make those variations visible to customers.

    We're also pursuing innovative approaches that help your patients more easily navigate the healthcare system, such as connecting cancer patients with care coordinators, as described in this moving video produced by CrossCut.

    We look forward to our continued collaboration with you as we build better tools and programs, all geared towards enhancing the healthcare experience of our customers. Thank you for your support and for the dedicated care that you provide to our customers.
