The deadline for enrolling in a 2014 health plan ended March 31, but if you have a qualifying event, you can still purchase a plan through the special enrollment period. If you qualify for special enrollment you can call us at 1-877-PREMERA to get assistance changing your plan. If you do not have a qualifying event and missed the March 31 deadline, you must wait until November 15, 2014 to sign up for coverage effective January 1, 2015.
How Do These Changes Affect Me?
Everyone needs to have healthcare coverage now. If your employer doesn’t offer coverage, you must buy your own health plan or pay a penalty.
How Much is the Penalty?
If you don’t have health coverage you could face a penalty of either $95 or 1% of your income on your taxes in 2015. You’ll pay whichever is greater. The penalty will increase every year. Learn about penalties.
Have You Been on the Same Health Plan Since March 23, 2010?
If so, the plan changes described on this page may not apply to you, because in healthcare lingo, your plan has been "grandfathered" in. You don’t have to do anything, but you can change your plan if you wish. Learn more about grandfathered plans.

Open Enrollment for 2015
Every year you need to re-enroll in your health plan. The open enrollment period for the 2015 health plan year is Nov. 15, 2014 through Feb. 15, 2015.
