Register Your Imaging Facility Today

  • October 4, 2018

Choosing an imaging provider is an important decision for our customers, affecting the quality and cost of their care. AIM’s OptiNet® tool will help providers and their patients compare high value, lower cost imaging facilities for computed tomography (CT) imaging and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) services.

    Why registration is important

When you register, your facility information is displayed in AIM ProviderPortal(SM) a tool provided by our partner, AIM Specialty Health. By registering, your facility may be available on our Initial Display list to ordering physicians and members requesting imaging services.

What kinds of imaging providers should register?

We’re collecting information about the imaging capabilities of all Premera contracted imaging facilities in Alaska that provide the technical component of imaging services (CT/CTA and MRI/MRA).

What do you need to do?

    Register in the OptiNet® tool.

    How to register

    1. Go online to www.aimspecialtyhealth.com/goweb
    2. Select Premera from the drop-down menu
    3. Log in to AIM ProviderPortal
    4. Select “Access Your OptiNet® Registration” found on the left-hand side of the ProviderPortal home page
    5. OptiNet will guide you through the registration process

    What data will be included?

The AIM online registration tool, OptiNet, collects data on imaging providers related to: facility specifications, technologist and physician qualifications, accreditation, equipment features, and technical registration. This information is used to determine how organizations conform to industry-recognized standards, including those established by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).

Why are we making this change?

Our goal is to support informed decision-making by referring providers and their patients, including access to accurate information about imaging facilities and contracted imaging providers.

    Are you enrolled with OptiNet?

If you’re already enrolled in OptiNet for another insurer, simply copy your registration over to your Premera record. This capability is found in the Actions drop down for each individual address. If you’re aren’t enrolled, visit www.aimspecialtyhealth.com to get started.

Once your information is completed in OptiNet, a score for each modality will be generated and found on the scorecard link. To maintain your score, we ask that you keep all information up to date. Information that expires may negatively impact your score(s).
