Change for Claims Requiring Medical Records

    Beginning April 1, after requesting medical records from the treating provider, Premera won’t pend the claim for up to 45 days. We will deny the claim(s) until we receive the requested records. We’ll then review and process the claim based on the appropriate policies and the member’s benefits.

    We will continue to review each claim for medical necessity and appropriateness.
