Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska received a Brand Excellence Award for member retention from the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA). The annual awards honor companies within the Blue Cross and Blue Shield network that excel in developing and enhancing the overall BCBS brand image.
Premera had an especially high percentage of members renew their coverage over the past year in Alaska, and currently serves 163,000 members.
“We are focused on making healthcare work better for our customers,” said Jim Grazko, Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska president. “We’re excited to accept this Brand Excellence Award for member retention as it reinforces our commitment toward making the customers’ experience simple and easy.”
This marks the 23rd year that BCBSA has presented Brand Excellence Awards to recognize BCBS companies nationwide in categories that promote the BCBS brand, including attracting new customers, fostering loyalty among existing customers and brand innovation.

Serota, BCBSA president and CEO. “We are proud to recognize those BCBS companies that have exceeded member expectations and delivered exceptional service to the communities they serve.
